Hopefully you received the District communication last week about the Friday Furlough Days:
Remote Learning Phase 3 Schedule Revisions: Furlough Day Plan
To mitigate some of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the District will be participating in Oregon’s Work Share program. This participation will result in weekly furlough days of staff each Friday through the end of the school year. To account for these furlough Fridays, the following adjustments to the student, teacher, and service provider weekly work schedule are necessary.
Elementary
Teachers and services providers will continue to use a mix of synchronous and asynchronous interaction during the final month of Remote Learning. With one less day to connect with students each week, teachers will make adjustments to their Monday through Thursday weekly schedules. This may include adjusting their office hours and/or student contact time. Teachers and service providers will not be available virtually, by phone or via email on Fridays for student or parent consultation, to deliver instruction or to provide feedback on student work.
You will be receiving more information directly from your child's teacher about the changes to the Monday-Thursday schedule.

Greetings Sato Families!
I hope this message finds you well! Not a day goes by where I don't miss all of our little raccoons!!! Today I am excited as we launch the first official day of BSD's Remote Learning for all. Remember it won't be perfect from the get go, not on our side of things and not on your side of things. We are asking more of parents and guardians than ever - we are asking you to partner with us in this new virtual environment. We recognize that this is a new and challenging time for everyone. We want to approach remote learning with a focus on Flexibility, Options, and Grace. Complete the lessons as it makes sense for your family's schedule, and know that we recognize that it won't be feasible for every family to complete every activity. Each week, you will receive assignments from your child's teacher, and you may choose to engage in some of the optional, supplemental activities as well. Under the best of circumstances teachers and parents both feel the stress and pressure that comes with shaping the lives of children. We are all just trying to do the best we can. Please give yourself and your child grace as we continue remote learning.
Without further ado HERE is the link you've been waiting for: this week's Monday Morning Meeting, please note there is a special message in there for parents and guardians!
Also, if your family is experiencing food insecurity during these challenging times, please fill in this confidential FORM and we will be in contact with you to see how we can help.
Finally looking ahead... soon you can expect to hear more about:
- How to get your all personal student items from classrooms - a district plan in being developed - as soon as I know the plan, I will let you know!
- We are planning a Car Parade so be on the look out for more details!!
Thank you!
